My Romeo and Juliet Persuassive Essay

Romeo and Juliet Persuasive Essay
There are some people who think that making a film version of Romeo and Juliet ourselves is invaluable and the only way to learn it is to read it and take a test on it. Although, there is a lot of value that we can receive in making a film out of the Epic Romeo and Juliet. Making this film has increased every ones responsibility in many ways. Making the movie also creates a more hands on experience and that helps many things. This project has also given us a sense of remembrance of it instead of just forgetting it right after we finished. It also improves students’ collaboration with each other. The project we have done on Romeo and Juliet has also improved our communication with different people. Some people may think at first that making our own film of Romeo and Juliet isn’t helpful to the students, but it is actually helping the students learn about the play a lot more than it seems.
Making the film has improved everybody’s responsibility in many ways. All of the actors had very difficult and long lines to memorize. The actors had to make sure that they had their lines memorized so that the movie could be filmed and not delayed. Responsibility was also increased in the writers because they had to write all of the lines very quickly and make sure that the lines were very good. All of the lines were due by the second week of the project and the writers had to make sure they were in so the rest of the project could be done. Also, almost all of the decisions were made by the students making all of the students more responsible. Except for a few instances the students made all of the decisions and this helped create more responsibility even if the students didn’t realize it, but the project also had a hand’s on experience with the project.
The students also had a better hand’s on experience because of the project. Having the students do all of the work to make the film was very essential. It made the students actually think about what and how they were going to do for certain scenes. Having the students do the work to create the film made them understand the whole play and specifically the act and scenes they were doing. Also, when all of them were making the play they were remembering it better. This made them remember everything better because they were actually making the play instead of just reading it and taking a test on it. Having a hand’s on experience made the students understand and remember the play better than taking a test on it. A hand’s on experience is a good reason to make a film out of the play, but the project also gives us a sense of remembrance.
This project is a lot more memorable than taking a test on the play. There were a lot of great memories made by the students that were involved in doing the production. Having good memories surrounding a project make people remember it better. The students are also having fun doing this project. They are doing something that is fun and that they like doing so they can look back at it and smile. The students are also going to remember the class in Iowa. They will remember them better because they had to work with them in making the film. This project is more memorable than taking a test and it is also increased the students collaboration.
Creating the students own version of the play Romeo and Juliet also increased collaboration. The students at Grosse Pointe South high school had to collaborate with the other students in Van Meter Iowa. They had to make sure that the two schools were on the same page in many things. They had to make sure that the play was re-written in the same style. They also had to make sure that in acts where one of the characters was wearing the same clothes as in the last act that the character from the other school was wearing the same thing. The students had to make sure that they were all on the same page for everything in the play. They all had to do many things to make sure that everything was uniform and the same. Making the students own version of the play Romeo and Juliet increased collaboration, and also it increased student communication.
Re-making the play Romeo and Juliet into a movie also increased student communications. It could help us find a job some day by increasing our people skills. It would make finding a job easier because people skills can affect many parts of job. Increasing people skills make it easier to talk to people you have never met before. Making the film also increased student communications because the project made students talk to each other even if they had never seen them before. It makes them improve their communication skills with everyone else they have to work with. The Romeo and Juliet project improved the student’s communication skills in many ways.
Some people think that making a film out of the play Romeo and Juliet doesn’t help kids to learn about the play. Making the film increased student responsibility in more ways than just reading the play. It also gave the students hands on experience with the play. The project is also more memorable than just reading the play. The movie increased student collaboration because there were many things that had to be the same in parts of the play. Creating the movie also made student communications a lot better and will help them with many things. Some people don’t think that creating a movie out of Romeo and Juliet is useful for learning, but it helped the students learn the play a lot better than it seemed.

Last Blog! (maybe)

We have finished the project and now sadly I won't have to be posting on the blog anymore. The project was realy fun to be doing with so many people involved in it. From the pictures I have seen so far on the wiki the movie looks like it is very good. In the beginning of the project I was a writer until I finished the scripts and then after that I kind of went into Print-Advertising. The whole project was very fun and I hope a lot of people do it. The movie premiers on April 30, I hope everyone likes it!

New Updated Romeo and Juliet Advertisement Glog

Today I decided to make a new and updated glog. It made sense that I should do a glog with some screen shots from scene 1 since we already finished it. It looks like it's really good and it worked really well. When I was making it I decided it should be a glog with all of us in it. I think we are doing a very great job with all our jobs and the actors are doing a really good job with the play. Finding times to film must be really hard because there are so many people that have to coordinate and figure out when they can be places. Great job everyone with the project! I also hope you like the glog!

My First Advertisement Glog

I finished my first glog as a Print Advertising person today! It would have been nice if I just had to do two blog posts as a writer for the rest of the time, but it's still fun to be in Print Advertising. It was really fun being a writer because I got to make the script and decide how things would happen in the play. I hope the movie ends up lokking really nice and that everyone likes it (especially act one). I can't wait I hope you think glog is nice, because I like. I be blogging again next week so see you then!

I'm Done!

Ok we'r done with all the acts now and it's time to start filming. The scripts ended up looking really nice and I think they flow together nicely. I'm happy that I don't have to write anymore scripts because it wasn't the easiest thing to do. Every script took about an hour just to write then I had to go back through it again. Although, it is nice to be done with the scripts. It was really fun doing this with the people at VM. It looks like all the actors are memorizing their lines right on schedule. The project is going to be really nice and I think we did a really good job on it.

Act 1 Scene 5 part 1 script

(Helpers come in and start setting up the room)
First Helper-Everyone we have to get ready! Come on everything has to be perfect!
Second Helper-Well you don’t have to be so mean about it.
First Helper-Get everything out of the way, and save me a piece of the marzipan.
Second Helper-Alright we’re ready.
First Helper-You guy’s they want us in the other room.
Third Helper-We can’t be in two places at once you know. Make it fast though.
(Everyone exits)
(Enter Capulet, Lady Capulet, Juliet, Tybalt, Nurse, and the guests)
Capulet- Hello everyone! All your costumes look amazing! Everyone that isn’t dancing get out of the way and let’s get the music going and it’s time to start dancing!
(Music starts everyone starts dancing)
Capulet- Oh sit down cousin we are too old to be dancing. How long has it been since we have been dancing at a masquerade dance?
Capulet Cousin- Well, I guess it’s been about 30 years now.
Capulet-Oh, no it hasn’t. At most it’s been 20 or 25 years since then.
Capulet Cousin-It has been a lot longer than that. His oldest son is 30.
Capulet-You liar! (Lightheartedly) It has only been two years since he was a minor.
(Switch to Romeo)
Romeo- (to a serving man) who of the girls here would want to dance with me?
Serving Man-I’m sorry but I don’t know.
Romeo-Have you seen a girl that is so beautiful that she makes all the others look like nothing? Do you know her? I want to dance with her.
(Switch to Tybalt)
Tybalt-He, over there, is a Montegue. I can tell by the way he’s acting. Why would he dare come here? He can’t be here. I’ll go make sure he leaves.
Capulet-Hey! Where are you going?
Tybalt-He is a Montague, he isn’t supposed to be here!
Capulet- Is that Romeo? Oh yes, it is. Leave him alone, he isn’t doing anything wrong. As long as he isn’t trying to mess up our dance leave him alone he’s just trying to have a good time.
Tybalt-He would get in here somehow, wouldn’t he?
Capulet-Well you can deal with him for a night. Get rid of your attitude and have fun. Who cares if he’s here?
Tybalt-But he shouldn’t be here.
Capulet-You’re a rude boy. Just leave Romeo alone for a night. It won’t kill you to.
Tybalt-Fine I’ll try to ignore him, but if he does anything to mess this up I won’t keep my patience.
(Tybalt exit)

Almost Done!

Now Autumn and I have almost all of act 1 done. Only scene 5 left to go! That's due Friday so by the end of this week we'll be done! I think that the lines are really good and the play should run really well. I hope we can get this done really soon so that the actors have all their lines. The lines shouldn't be hard to memorize because we updated them so it's more of common sense conversation lines. I hope the play comes out really well and that we get our job done soon!
